| Surveys & Questionnaires: College Literacy Contribute to the Winter 2009 issue, whose focus will be college students’ out-of-class writing. This includes writing at work, journal writing, blogging, letter writing, etc. Develop 1-5 survey questions and send them to the S&Q editors and/or volunteer your class to take the survey. If you are chosen to coordinate a survey for your class, you will be listed as an associate editor for that issue (up to 6 associate editors) and will receive a pdf of the issue. Fieldwork101: Human Behavior Contribute to the Winter 2009 issue. Have your students develop experiments with controls to text how human subjects respond to certain social situations. The topic of this serial is intentionally broad in order to allow for student creativity. An excellent opportunity to get your students interested in the controlled creation of data. High School Teacher Contribute to the inaugural issues. Volunteer to take a 6-question survey (paragraph-length answers) dealing with issues a high-school teacher faces during his or her career, or volunteer questions (up to 6) and topics for subsequent issues. The Winter 2009 issue address the issue of classroom management. The Winter 2009 issue will address methods and styles of grading. We are looking for a nationwide spread of survey takers. Spectrum Spectrum is a serial survey that juxtaposes viewpoints from younger adults (18-30) against middle-age adults (31-60) and senior adults (61-90). Volunteer your class to administer the survey. Assign each student one copy of the survey to administer to a young adult (if old enough, the student can answer this part), a middle-age adult, and a senior adult. This is a great way to get students involved in gathering, recording, and transmitting evidence. The focus of the Winter 2009 issue is financial savings. Reference Point Reference Point is a serial survey (6 questions, asking for small-paragraph answers) that examines the moral stance of younger adults (ages 18-30) on various issues. Volunteer your college class to administer the survey. Each student takes the survey and then administers it to a young adult outside the class roll. This is a great way to get students involved in gathering, recording, and transmitting evidence. The focus of the Winter 2009 issue is marriage.
